The Minidoka Project

A collaborative effort between the National Park Service and Buhl School District.

Buhl, ID- The project began in 2012 as part of the GEAR UP Program (a federal career and college readiness grant for which service learning is a key component). Adrea Storey, grant coordinator for Buhl’s GEAR UP Program created the project to raise awareness of the local historic site.

Working with National Parks Service and eighth grade Social Studies teacher Theresa Silvester, a trunk curriculum on Minidoka and Japanese Relocation Efforts was created.
