Advanced Opportunities

What are CTE Advanced Opportunities?

 

CTE Advanced Opportunities allow you to receive college credit for the skills you gain in high school career & technical education classes. These credits are affordable, and can save you thousands of dollars in tuition.

 

Types of CTE Advanced Opportunities:

 

DUAL CREDIT Catalogued College Course $65 per credit

• Fees paid at time of registration

• Credit earned simultaneously at high school and college Fast Forward eligible

 

TECHNICAL COMPETENCY CREDIT (TCC) Competency Based $10 per credit

• Fees paid when student chooses to purchase credits within 2 years

• Postsecondary credit awarded at time of purchase NOT Fast Forward eligible

Brain Honey

BrainHoney provides teachers with actionable real-time insight into how they can help every student succeed. BrainHoney highlights the “critical students” who need help now and a “prioritized todo list” for teachers that lists the actions they should take to help their students succeed.

Clever

Clever keeps educational applications rostered and up-to-date. They make using software in schools as easy as ABC.

3D Game Lab

3D Game Lab is a gamified learning management and content creation platform where teachers design, play, and share quests and badges to create personalized learning for their students. By earning experience points, badges, and achievements, players “level up” through the curriculum, choosing quests they want to play, with the ability to align to standards, including Common Core.  Teachers turn class and the curriculum into a game, providing the opportunity for true mastery learning. Used in kindergarten through graduate school in over 16+ countries!

Google Classroom

Google Classroom is a learning management system for schools that aims to simplify creating, distributing and grading assignments. It was introduced as a feature of Google Apps for Education and ties many of Google's products together to help organize assignments, provide teacher to student communication and provide storage for students to submit work.

IDLA Portal

Idaho Digital Learning provides innovative education methods through digital learning, creating access and opportunity for all Idaho students and educators.

Khan Academy

Khan Academy is an organization on a mission. We're a not-for-profit with the goal of changing education for the better by providing a free world-class education for anyone anywhere.

All of the site's resources are available to anyone. It doesn't matter if you are a student, teacher, home-schooler, principal, adult returning to the classroom after 20 years, or a friendly alien just trying to get a leg up in earthly biology. Khan Academy's materials and resources are available to you completely free of charge.

PowerSchool provides the full range of features needed by administrators at the district and school level in addition to portals for teachers, parents, and students.

Think Central

ThinkCentral is the Houghton Mifflin Harcourt (HMH) Web site that allows you to access digital materials associated with one or more HMH program.

Think Through Math (Apengea)

Think Through Math (Apangea) is designed for students in grades 3 through high school, Think Through Math (TTM) is a learning system that provides quality math instruction and supports students - and teachers – in unprecedented ways. Developed by teachers and technologists to help students prepare for rigorous Common Core, State Standards and TEKS standards and assessments, TTM accelerates student understanding and supports classroom effectiveness.
