Dear Students, Families, Staff, and Community Members:
Welcome, March! Looking at the school calendar, March is a busy month. This month is great because of daylight savings time, March 10th, and spring break begins March 20th. We are all looking forward to longer hours of daylight and warmer days!
Thanks to everyone who joined us for parent/teacher conferences. They were a great success.
Popplewell Elementary School will be celebrating Dr. Seuss’s birthday on March 2nd. This celebration is known as Read Across America Day. This fun-filled day is a nationwide reading commemoration that takes place annually. Across the country, thousands of schools, libraries, and community centers participate by bringing together kids, teens, and books.
We have all enjoyed a few beautiful spring-like days over the last couple of weeks and we are anticipating more. However, in Idaho, these days can be teasers. Some of our coldest weather occurs in March. Please continue to have your child dress for changing conditions, especially the thaw. It is important for children to have an opportunity to get some needed fresh air each day. spring break begins March 25th and ends March 29th, 2019. I wish each of you a wonderful spring break with your children.
There are many activities and events scheduled for the Popplewell Elementary School. Please take time to frequently visit the Buhl School District website, newsletters, calendars, and both the Popplewell Elementary Facebook page and the Buhl School District Facebook page. Thank you for being a partner in your child’s education and thank you to the Buhl community for supporting the Buhl School District, especially Popplewell Elementary!
Sincerely,
Cynthia Cooper
Principal Popplewell Elementary
