Medicaid Redeterminations

As you may have heard, the National Public Health Emergency (PHE) is coming to an end on May 11, 2023. What that means for the Medicaid population is that income guidelines will revert to pre-PHE requirements and not all current Medicaid participants will keep their coverage. Therefore, Idaho Department of Health and Welfare (DHW) will be conducting redeterminations for all individuals who received Medicaid coverage as of February 2020 through the PHE. Participants who are not found eligible through the redeterminations process will lose the coverage starting April 1, 2023.

It is important to know that the redeterminations process will affect more than just those students who qualify for school-based services. It will affect all students who are currently covered under Medicaid. The DHW is encouraging their partners to spread the word in hopes of reaching all current Medicaid participants.

The Buhl School District would like to support this effort to ensure that none of our students lose their Medicaid coverage. You and your families can visit the Medicaid Protection FAQ | Idaho Department of Health and Welfare website or contact the Division of Medicaid by phone (877-453-1233) or email MyBenefits@dhw.idaho.gov for more information. Parents can also log into their Idalink account to update their information. Uninsured Idahoans may also visit Your Health Idaho (YHI) to access the state's online health insurance marketplace.
