Dear Popplewell Parents, Students, Staff, and Community,
The holiday season is upon us, and we want to wish all of our families a wonderful and safe holiday season. At Popplewell Elementary School, we are grateful to have families and staff who have supported, respected, and embraced the Buhl School District comprehensive health and safety protocols. The plan changes because of the unprecedented COVID-19 pandemic.
First, the board has elected to keep Popplewell open five days a week. To stay in school, we ask that everyone follow the CDC's guidance throughout the holiday season.
Next, I understand that not everyone agrees with this decision and have reservations and are concerned. The Buhl School District is affiliated with the Idaho Digital Learning Academy (IDLA) option. If you would like information, please call Popplewell Elementary School and ask for the IDLA coordinator for details at (208)-543-8225. Registration began on November 3, 2020. The start date is January 25, 2020. We have limited spots, so registration needs completed a.s.a.p.
Finally, I would like to acknowledge our PES teachers and staff. Their tireless work over the past few months is noteworthy. Their dedication and commitment have enabled students to learn in a safe and productive environment. We worry about their health as well as our students. Please continue to follow the CDC's guidelines so we can continue to stay in school. We are also thankful for our families' support and very proud of our community and their desire to support our schools.
IMPORTANT: Watch for notes home for important dates. Because of COVID-19, we are not scheduling until we have our weekly-updates from the South Central Public Health District (SCPHD).

COVID Updates:
Popplewell Elementary is not seeing transmission through the school. The 4 student positive cases we have had were transmitted through family members. We are social distancing, masking up, cleaning, and contact tracing. Popplewell has seen a total of six teachers and staff that have been ill with the virus.
