Hello BSD families,
All BSD schools will be closed tomorrow, Friday, January 12, 2024 due to the blizzard warning that will likely result in unsafe travel conditions, especially on side streets, county roads, and parking lots. This includes all classes, programs, and student activities. Dual credit students taking classes on a college campus should check with that institution to determine which classes they need to attend.
Closing schools is not a decision we take lightly and is always done with the best interest of our students and staff members in mind. In general, we wait until it is clear that travel conditions are such that it would be unsafe for students and staff members to report to school. However, given the nature of the upcoming storm and the predicted timeframe for when the blizzard conditions will likely reach our area, we believe it is important to make this decision early in this circumstance.
This decision is being made out of an abundance of caution to allow parents adequate time to prepare and make arrangements for their students.
