Superintendent's Community Update September 25, 2025

Dear Families, Staff, and Community Members,

We’ve had an exciting and rewarding few weeks across our district, and I want to take a moment to share some important updates and highlights with you.

Thank You for a Wonderful Homecoming Week Homecoming was a tremendous success this year, and I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to all the local businesses who helped bring school spirit to life by decorating their storefronts. Your support and creativity added so much energy and pride to the week—it truly takes a village, and we are grateful for each of you.

Celebrating Student Success – Latinos in Action We’re incredibly proud of our Latinos in Action students who recently attended the Hispanic Youth Leadership Summit. These outstanding students returned with over $200,000 in college scholarships, a testament to their hard work, leadership, and determination. Congratulations to all involved—you are making our entire community proud.

Great News on School Facilities Funding We’re also pleased to share some great news regarding our School Facilities funding. This year, our district received $1,052,706—well above the $650,000 we had budgeted in our levy request. Because of this, there will be no tax impact on our local homeowners for these levy funds. The remaining balance will be used in accordance with Idaho Code 33-911, which outlines responsible use of these resources for school facility improvements. We are committed to maximizing every dollar for the benefit of our students and community.

Parent-Teacher Conferences – October 13 & 14 Looking ahead, we encourage all families to participate in our upcoming Parent-Teacher Conferences on October 13th and 14th. These meetings are a valuable opportunity to connect with your child’s teachers, discuss academic progress, set goals, and explore ways we can work together to support student growth and success.

As always, thank you for your continued partnership and dedication to our schools. Together, we’re building a strong future for our students and community.

Warm regards,

Angie Oparnico

Superintendent
