On the day that 9/11 occurred, Cyndi Cooper, the school principal said, "the PES students talked about 9/11 and learned about all the brave heroes involved. The students were so respectful. They said their pledge of allegiance and asked lots of questions. They made special projects to show their appreciation for our brave heroes! We ended by sharing who our own heroes are and why we appreciate them. ❤️💙🇺🇸
Mrs. Fontana's 5th grade class at Popplewell Elementary reviewed the basics of what happened on September 11th. The students then discussed what they felt a hero was and created posters that reflected their thoughts. The lesson focused on everyday heros and helpers more than the horrific events of the day. The students were inspired to become everyday heroes themselves!
