Chromebook Information You Need to Know

Updated: Apr 8, 2020

BSD | Chromebook Information You Need to Know

Our technology team is working diligently to provide you with the resources necessary to succeed during this move to distance learning. Our middle school and high school students will primarily be using online instruction to complete their school work, while our elementary students will primarily be receiving homework through take-home packets.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation as we continue to develop this process to assist our students and parents

What should I do if my Chromebook* isn't working?

We have created a Distance Learning Chromebook Repair Form which you can access by clicking the link provided below. If your Chromebook is malfunctioning please have your parent fill out the form. We will be contacting parents through their preferred contact method. During the initial contact we will create an appointment time for drop-off and further establish the procedure to pick up a replacement device. Our drop-off/ pick-up times will be Monday through Friday from 9:00 am through 12:00 pm (appointment is required). We will be as flexible as possible if you are unable to drop-off/pick-up the Chromebook during this time period. Also, we will make our best effort to replace the broken device with the same model, so please keep your charger if does not appear to be part of the problem.

*Also applies to broken chargers.

What if I forgot my password?

Email one of our technology team members with the students first and last name. The subject of the email should be "I forgot my password". We will reset your password to the district default and reply with the details. If you prefer talking to someone, we're available to answer calls Monday through Friday between 9:00 am and 12:00 pm.

Try this first:

  • Restart your Chromebook if you're having issues. Many times a simple restart helps the Chromebook reset and the issues go away.

  • Make sure that your Chromebook is charged. If you go a long time without charging your Chromebook it may shutdown on its own and will require you to charge it for at least 15 min. before it will turn back on.

  • Turn off your Chromebook occasionally. This allows your device to go through its update process which can often fix small issues.

Thank you again for your cooperation and support! Please email our technology team if you have any further questions concerning Chromebooks.
