PES | November Newsletter

Dear Popplewell Elementary Community and Families,

Greetings! The past two months have been very busy with activities. Thanks to all parents, staff, and students that dedicated their time and efforts to ensure that these activities were successful. During the following months, more activities will be planned. Please watch for notes, newsletters, the Popplewell calendar and other forms of communication that accompany your child from Popplewell Elementary.

Items to Remember

November 1: The first quarter ends.

November 6 and 7: Parent-Teacher Conferences, held from 4:00 – 8:00 P.M. both nights. We have sent out information regarding your planned time to meet with your child’s teacher. Please respond quickly if you have not replied. This is a very important conference as it is a time to celebrate your child’s progress and to discuss areas of strengths and concerns.

November 8: No school Friday, November 8.

Early Mornings

Please remember that students are not to be on campus before 7:45 when the doors open and supervision begins. Students that arrive before this time are unsupervised before 7:45. Your child’s safety is a high priority. Please, make sure you do not drop off your student before 7:45 am.

What to wear

Students need to dress appropriately for the cold weather. Students need to come to school with coats, hats, gloves, and appropriate footwear for cold weather. Please remember that our students go outside every day for recess. Unfortunately, we do not have coats, hats and/or gloves for students to borrow. It is important to double-check with your child as they head off to school and make sure they have their winter wear. Also, please put your child’s name on all items. We know these items are costly, and we want them to be identifiable in the lost and found. Remind your child if they have lost items to check the lost and found located near the office.

It is the season to give thanks. We at Popplewell Elementary School give thanks to our wonderful students, families, staff, and community. Thank you for your growing support of our school and your children. May everyone have a safe, healthy, and happy holiday season!

Cynthia Cooper,

Popplewell Elementary Principal
