Buhl School District Parents and Community,
As August is quickly approaching, it is almost time to start another exciting school year! August 16th will be here before you know it.
My purpose in writing this letter is to share some information on where we are in regards to COVID health and safety guidelines and protocols for the upcoming school year. Thankfully we won't be starting from scratch like last year, we have the lessons learned, a template, and a process to work from. As a way to get parent and community input on what worked well and what could be improved from last years experience, I will be at registration on August 2nd at the following locations and times:
Buhl Middle School- 11:30 am -12:30 pm
Buhl High School - 1:30 pm - 2:30 pm
Popplewell Elementary - 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm.
With this being my first year as superintendent in Buhl, I look forward to meeting and hearing from you.
On Friday, August 6th our district Reopening Buhl Schools Committee, will reconvene to revisit last year's district plan. This committee is composed of administrators, teachers, department heads, district office staff, a trustee, students and parents, with additional input from health care professionals and our regional public health department. Their charge is to review the current status of the district plan for delivering instruction in light of the most current State and regional Risk Level Assessments.
The recommendations from the Reopening Buhl School Committee will be brought before our school board for their consideration at a special board meeting on Tuesday, August 10th at 7pm at Popplewell Elementary Gymnasium. This is a public meeting and all are welcome to attend. This process allows the board to get input from all stakeholders and have the most current national, State and local health information to approve a plan that protects the health and safety of our students, staff and community as well as maintaining the best possible environment for educating our students.

El viernes 6 de agosto nuestro Comité de Reapertura de las Escuelas de Buhl del distrito se volverá a reunir para revisar el plan del distrito del año pasado. Este comité está compuesto por administradores, maestros, jefes de departamento, personal de la oficina del distrito, un fideicomisario, estudiantes y padres, con aportes adicionales de los profesionales de la salud y nuestro departamento regional de salud pública. Su responsabilidad es revisar el estado actual del plan del distrito para impartir instrucción a la luz de las evaluaciones de nivel de riesgo estatales y regionales más recientes.
Las recomendaciones del Comité Escolar de Reapertura Buhl serán llevadas ante nuestra junta escolar para su consideración en una reunión especial de la junta el martes 10 de agosto a las 7 pm en el Gimnasio de la Primaria Popplewell. Esta es una reunión pública y todos están invitados a asistir. Este proceso permite a la junta obtener información de todas las partes interesadas y tener la información de salud local, estatal y nacional más actualizada para aprobar un plan que protege la salud y seguridad de nuestros estudiantes, personal y comunidad, así como mantener el mejor ambiente posible para la educación de nuestros estudiantes.
