Third grade students at Popplewell Elementary wrapped up their unit on force and motion in science by building catapults with popsicle sticks, rubber bands, and spoons. they launched different items and discussed the difference between force and motion, depending on the items launched. #PES
- FFA 4th Place at Livestock Judging
Buhl FFA recently place 4th place overall at the livestock judging contest, allowing the team to attend the state competition in June at the University of Idaho. The team had three students place in the top 20; Hannah Share, 11th place, Anna Machado, 12th place and Kaycie Theurer, 20th place. #Students #BHS #Parents

Buhl High School students and staff will be participating in fun activities and competitions this week as a part of College Application Week. Monday: Mathlete vs. Athlete...which one will YOU be in college?! Tuesday: “Team up Tuesday”...wear your favorite college team apparel! SENIORS: College application day in advisory: Apply for college, work on FAFSA, apply for scholarships, research what it takes to become what you want to be. Wednesday: “What do you want to be Wednesday”...what do you want to be when you grow up? Dress like a member of that profession! Counselors will begin taking pictures for the “I Applied” banner Thursday: College Competition...which Idaho college will be best represented by BHS students?! Freshmen...wear CSI colors and apparel Sophomores...wear ISU colors and apparel Juniors...wear U of I colors and apparel Seniors...wear BSU colors and apparel Door judging (there will be a prize for the winning teacher/staff member, so go all out!! All week, students and staff will be participating in fun activities as a way to get students thinking about and planning for college. Monday - Play PLINKO for prizes in the cafeteria during lunch. Tuesday - Craziest College Fan Day (wear college attire). Tailgate Party for faculty for lunch Wednesday - College & Teacher Trivia during advisory and door judging. Thursday - Play Bean Bag Toss (cornhole) for prizes in the cafeteria during lunch. Prizes will be awarded for the best door and craziest fan. #Parents #BMS #Students

5th Grade students painted rocks with a farm theme for Thank a Farmer Day, October 12th. The rocks will be clear-coated and put into the planter boxes in front of Popplewell Elementary. #Students #PES #Parents
- District Cross Country
Congratulations to the Buhl High School cross country team, who competed in the district meet in Gooding on October 17th. The girls team took 2nd place and will advance to the state meet. Chamique Jacobson and Valeria Wences both took medals in the girls race; 8th and 9th place. Daniel Butler took first place in the boys race with a time of 16:37. Daniel, Preston Ray, and Carter Kelsey all took medals in the boys race and will run in the state meet as individuals. Preston and Carter took 7th and 10th place. Way to go Indians! - University of Idaho Ag Days
On September 28th - 30th, Buhl FFA students Hannah Share, Ian Gale, Noah Sanchez and Kaycie Theurer attended Ag Days at the University of Idaho. This was an opportunity for the students to see the university and tour the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences. They attended workshops on livestock evaluation and "agvocating" for the future of agriculture. On Saturday the 29th, the students competed in the livestock judging contest. Kaycie placed 14th out of over 100 participants! Way to go Kaycie! The weekend was capped off by watching the Vandals versus Portland State football game. #Students #BHS #Parents
- 3rd Grade STEM Projects
Mrs. Coleman's 3rd grade students at Popplewell Elementary have been participating in some fun STEM projects in the classroom. STEM stands for science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. On the first day of school, students were given toothpicks and gumdrops to build a bridge that would span six inches and hold 125 pennies. On another occasion, students had to research and fold a paper airplane that would fly the longest and straightest possible. First place went to Erick Rivera, second place to Nina Villegas and third place went to Daniel Rivera. #PES #Parents #Students
